Premium Grade Tapersawn Cedar Shakes
View the cedar shake roof installation manual
Certi- sawn™ cedar shakes are produced by cutting blocks from the log to the desired length. Shakes are then taper sawn to size on both sides in the same way a shingle in manufactured. They differ from shingles in two ways; at 610mm they are longer and at 16mm the butts are much thicker. A shake roof has the same smooth textured look as a shingle roof but as shakes are thicker and heavier more defined shadow line is created.
Cedar Shake roofs can be seen all over the US and Canada but are far less common in the UK. They are incredibly durable and are able to withstand extreme weather conditions. Cedar Shake roofs also provide excellent insulation and as a result are increasingly being specified by architects for energy efficient buildings. As far as we are aware, we are the only importer offering this product in the UK. We are confident that if you like the look of Cedar shingles you will love the look of Cedar shakes.

Certi-Label™ Confidence
Not all cedar shake and shingle products are alike. Certi-label products, manufactured by Cedar Shake & Shingle Bureau members, assure you of the highest quality standards. Member mills have committed to consistent quality through independent third-party inspections by accredited agencies. Each bundle of product has the mill's distinctive Certi-label tucked under the bundle strap. Asking for "the blue label" or "number one blue label" is not specific enough. Cedar Bureau members' products are the only ones with the Certi brand name on the label.
