We have a couple of packs of 40 x 90mm Cedardeck in 1.83m lengths that we are looking to clear. Each pack contains 216 lengths which equates to approximately 35.5 square metres of decking.
Also available...
3.05m packs available containing 59.3 square metres of decking.
At 40mm (1 ½") this is thicker than most decking available in the UK. There are a number of advantages to using a thicker deck board. Firstly, the joists can be spaced at 600mm centres rather than the usual 400mm. This obviously means that you will use fewer joists to construct the frame which will save both time and money. Secondly, when you come to screw the deck boards down you there will be a lot less screws to put in, again saving time and money. Finally, your deck will feel satisfyingly solid and sturdy underfoot.
This particular deck board size is what the Americans call the 'two-by-four' (2 x 4")* and it is the most popular deck board size on that side of the pond....so if you are looking for a deck with an authentic North American look and feel, then this is the deck board for you!
Note that these are new unopened packs but are sold unchecked. There are usually a few boards in each pack with minor defects that may require trimming however this is factored into the price.
*In the US and Canada timber is sold in imperial measurements in its nominal size rather than the actual size. A 2 x 4" (nominal) deck board would have an 'actual' size of 1 ½ x 3 ½" which is the finished size after the sawn board has been planed.
